Self confidence shows in our day to day living in many different ways. It presents itself in the behaviour, body language, conversation, in our presentation, the way we dress, self care, level of professionalism , choice of words, personal judgement, ability , power and the list continues.

We have been given a belief system that one gains self confidence over time and with experience. I say we can have good self confidence from a very early age and really do not have to wait to gain experience in order to feel confident. We can achieve anything we want provided we are persistent without being too hard on ourselves.Today I will give some tips to help build and increase self confidence. The very first thing we must do, is to let go of the past, it no longer serves us, it was an experience, we have learnt from it and it is time to move forward. Dwelling on the past and recalling the negative experiences is like chewing the same piece of gum, over and over again.Day in and day out chewing the same gum is tasteless. The gum has lost its flavour. It does not taste good so the right thing to do is to spit it out..After you have spit the chewed out flavourless gum you do not go back to see where you spit that piece ,you do not go through the trash to find it and see what it looks and feels like. Apply the same concept to the past experiences.Do not look back back, you are not going in that direction. You do not want to get lost in the shadows.

Begin your day with self love, self care, choose your clothes , ensure it is clean and ironed, pay attention to your skincare regime and feel good about who you are , who you have become and trust yourself. You are smarter than you think and you are capable of making good decisions. Do not let anyone make decisions for you.I am not saying that you do not discuss things with your significant other,or anyone else but in fact start making decisions. Start by taking small steps, and you will see with time your decision making will get better and better. If you see that your choice was not as good as you expected,do not worry, let it go, and keeping on moving forward.

Society has taught us to live and behave in a certain way and over time we have come to believe that this is the right way to interact, live, as we want to fit in that model. My dear readers there are some valuable and powerful guidance we get from society but that does not mean we follow every advice blindly. We have choices and be mindful with these.

Self confidence is a daily practice of the mind , focusing on good decision making, standing in your power, trusting yourself and taking things in stride to mention a few.

If this resonates with you and you are looking help in this area please feel free to reach out to me as I will be happy to help.
